As a huge Dracula fan, I shall certainly be tuning in to watch the new 3-part Dracula TV Series, which BBC1 is showing tonight at nine o’clock.
Developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, and based on Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel of the same name, the series will star Claes Bang as Count Dracula.
As well as being shown over three consecutive nights on BBC1, the series will also be released on Netflix on 4th January 2020. Also, I believe a Blu Ray edition may be in the offing, although as yet I haven’t seen any official confirmation of this.
As Christopher Lee has always been my all time favourite Dracula, I will certainly be watching this series with a close, critical eye, just to see how this new spin on the bloodthirsty count compares to the brilliance of the Lee version.
The documentary In Search of Dracula, with Mark Gatiss exploring the legacy of the famous Count, is also set to air alongside the series on BBC2 on 3 January 2020.
