Liverpool Horror Con

I want to tell you all how much I enjoyed my visit to the Liverpool Horror Con last Saturday.

It was the first horror con I had ever visited, and I must say that now I have had a taste of what such an event is like, it certainly won’t be my last!

It was well worth the £11.00 admission fee, and I want to congratulate the organisers for doing such a fantastic job. It was a real treat for all horror fans, with so much to see, from a variety of stalls offering every kind of horror paraphernalia you could imagine (they even had horror cakes there), to the chance to see and meet such legendary horror icons as Caroline Munro, Valerie Leon, C. J. Graham (from Friday The 13th Part 6: Jason Lives) and many more.

The highlight of the event, for me, was having the chance to sit in with the audience for a Q & A panel with the horror actors, and it was just so fascinating to hear these iconic stars relate all kinds of anecdotes about their parts in such classic horror movies as The Lost Boys and Friday The 13th, as well as what they are currently doing now. And an added bonus was the musical entertainment provided at the end, with Ari Lehman (the very first Jason Voorhees in the Friday The 13th Franchise) regaling us with his musical talent, followed by the burlesque dancers, all appropriately dressed in their Rocky Horror Show-like gear.

In addition to all those wonderful actors from the horror movies, it was also a real treat to see some extremely talented horror writers at the event – like Adam Nevill (whose novel The Ritual has just been made into a film) and Paul Kane – all displaying their books with the opportunity for fans to obtain autographed copies.

If you a big horror fan, then I would highly recommend you go to the next Liverpool Horror Con. It is a great day out, and I guarantee that you will be utterly impressed by the fantastic array of traders, exhibitors and celebrities present.
