The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series is the definitive Blu Ray box set to own for any fan of Rod Serling’s classic TV series. It truly is a gorgeous, well presented and flawlessly put together package, and here’s why.
You get a total of 24 discs that feature all 156 episodes of this iconic TV show. Each of the 5 seasons comes with its own individual Blu Ray case, which is a welcome change from the former clam-shell-box edition I purchased a few years back, in which all the caseless discs were awkwardly packed on top of each other, making them an absolute pain to pull out. Each disc in this set is presented in pristine Hi Definition, making it a vast improvement on the old DVD one.
In addition to all the episodes, you get an absolute TON of special features, ranging from feature commentary on each episode from the actors and directors involved, to recorded lectures held by Rod Serling himself. There are also interviews with many key players like Richard Matheson, and promos for “next week’s” show, radio dramas, sponsor billboards, isolated music scores, and so much more material to keep any TZ fanatic occupied for hours on end.
If you want to own the best Blu Ray box set of the original Twilight Zone TV series, then this is, without doubt, the one to get. Sound and image are top quality, and with all those juicy special features thrown in as an added treat, I guarantee that you will be watching this wonderful box set over and over again. I certainly will be. I love it so much.
